KTR’s Dallas trip a resounding success

In a high-profile visit that reaffirmed his leadership credentials, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) returned from a widely acclaimed trip to Dallas, USA. His presence at the Telangana Formation Day and BRS Silver Jubilee celebrations on June 1 at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas, drew thousands of attendees and underscored his growing stature as a global ambassador for Telangana.

KTR arrived in Dallas on May 31 to a grand reception from BRS NRI USA representatives, local Telangana associations, and enthusiastic supporters. The celebratory mood culminated in a landmark event organized by the BRS USA wing, drawing hundreds of NRIs, former ministers, and party workers to the Comerica Center.

The auditorium reverberated with chants of “Jai Telangana”, reflecting the diaspora’s deep-rooted emotional bond with the state and its movement for self-determination.

KTR’s vision: Telangana’s past, present, and future

In his keynote address, KTR delivered a spirited message, reaffirming BRS’s enduring commitment to Telangana’s development despite being in the opposition. Drawing on the metaphor of a child entrusted to others when the mother is unwell, he said, “Telangana is currently in others’ hands, but it will soon return to safe hands,” invoking the legacy of K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) and the 14-year statehood struggle.

KTR expressed confidence in the BRS’s resurgence, projecting the party’s return to power within three years to resume its developmental agenda.

Showcasing Telangana as investment hub

Beyond political rhetoric, KTR’s trip served as a strategic effort to position Telangana as a global investment destination. He highlighted the transformative initiatives of the BRS government—Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, Mission Bhagiratha, and the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project—that helped turn the state from “barren lands into green fields.”

Defending the Kaleshwaram project against political criticism, KTR stated, “Opponents may nitpick, but farmers have seen the real benefits. Political propaganda must not deprive Telangana of its rightful water share.”

He also called on the diaspora to play a more active role in Telangana’s future. “You are not Non-Resident Indians; you are Necessary Resident Indians,” he said, urging them to emulate leaders like PV Narasimha Rao and KCR in contributing to the state’s progress.

KTR’s Dallas engagement is the latest in a series of successful international appearances. His keynote at India Week 2025 in London and the inauguration of a Knowledge Centre in Warwick, UK, demonstrated his capacity to represent Telangana on global platforms with poise and clarity.
