Following the disappointing outcome of Game Changer, Ram Charan faced a brief emotional setback. However, he quickly bounced back and shifted focus to his next project, “Peddi” — a rural sports drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana, marking his second directorial effort after the successful Uppena.
The first-look glimpse of “Peddi” generated tremendous buzz, effectively helping Ram Charan move past the negativity surrounding his previous films like Acharya and Game Changer. The actor is reportedly highly enthusiastic about this project, which has reignited excitement among fans and industry insiders.
Meanwhile, debut producer Venkata Satish Kilaru, backing “Peddi” under his Vriddhi Cinemas banner, has closed a significant OTT deal with Netflix. The streaming giant has acquired digital rights for all five language versions — Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
While several other big-ticket films like Viswambhara and The Raja Saab are still negotiating OTT partnerships, ““Peddi”” has already locked in a lucrative agreement. According to sources, Netflix has offered a base price of ₹120 crore. If the film turns out to be a major blockbuster, the producer stands to earn an additional 20%. In case only the Telugu and Hindi versions perform well while others underperform, the bonus would be limited to 10%.
This deal marks a significant milestone for both the film and the first-time independent producer, setting high expectations ahead of “Peddi” s theatrical release.
The shoot of “Peddi” is in full swing in Hyderabad, with Ram Charan actively involved and committed to completing the film on time. He is focused on wrapping up the production by the end of this year—well ahead of the film’s scheduled release in March 2026.
Determined not to prolong projects, Ram Charan is adopting a disciplined approach, aiming to start his next film even before “Peddi” hits the screens. His new mantra is to finish each film within a defined timeline and avoid multi-year productions.
The film is being shot on a specially built village set in Hyderabad that replicates the rural charm of the Uttarandhra region, where the story is set. Director Buchi Babu Sana offered fans a sneak peek by sharing a selfie with Ram Charan from the set.
“Peddi” is a sports drama with Ram Charan portraying a rural athlete. Janhvi Kapoor stars opposite him, while Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar plays a significant role. The music is composed by AR Rahman.
