Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has sparked controversy with a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing the state government of inaction against over 20 Andhra-based contractors allegedly siphoning off Telangana’s resources.

Speaking to media at his Hyderabad residence on Wednesday, Rajagopal Reddy claimed these contractors are involved in looting public funds, particularly through projects like the Kaleshwaram irrigation scheme.

Rajagopal Reddy criticized the Chief Minister for delaying action under the pretext of ongoing investigations and commissions.

“More than 20 Andhra contractors are looting Telangana’s wealth, be it land, sand, or contracts,” he alleged, vowing to expose them soon. He warned that the Congress party could face consequences if it fails to address these issues and urged for urgent reforms to curb the misuse of state resources.

The Munugode MLA’s remarks come amid his ongoing discontent over being denied a cabinet berth, though he clarified he is not lobbying for a ministerial post. His statements have stirred political tensions, with some seeing them as a veiled critique of the Congress leadership’s handling of state affairs.

Rajagopal Reddy emphasized his commitment to speaking out against anyone exploiting Telangana’s resources, regardless of party affiliations. The allegations have reignited debates over the management of Telangana’s resources and the role of contractors from neighboring Andhra Pradesh. The state government has yet to respond officially to the claims.
