Kuberaa trailer is intrigue and raises the stakes

Director Sekhar Kammula, known for his sensitive storytelling, pivots to darker, more intense terrain with Kuberaa—a gripping social drama headlined by Dhanush and Nagarjuna, with Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh in key roles. The film presents a character-driven narrative set against the backdrop of wealth, power, and inequality.

While the teaser and three songs offered glimpses of the lead characters, the plot remained tightly under wraps—until now. The trailer, launched at a grand event, gives a fuller picture of this high-stakes drama.

Not a typical drama

Kuberaa isn’t your typical hero-villain tale. It’s about moral choices in a corrupt system, and identity in a world where human worth is measured by power and money. Nagarjuna plays Deepak, a high-level fixer who brings a beggar named Deva (Dhanush) into his world under the pretense of charity. But things take a sharp turn when Deva disappears—with a Rs 10,000 crore scam fund.

Sekhar Kammula strips away sentimentality in favor of brutal honesty, offering a gritty and introspective take on society’s invisible walls. His storytelling is bolder than ever—anchored in realism, rebellion, and social commentary.

Dhanush turns in one of his most intense performances—silent, rugged, and brimming with quiet fury. Nagarjuna impresses in a layered role that balances ambition with inner conflict. Rashmika exudes grace in a grounded performance, while Jim Sarbh delivers menace with charm as a polished capitalist predator.

Niketh Bommireddy’s cinematography vividly captures the stark divide between the privileged and the powerless, while Devi Sri Prasad’s haunting score heightens the film’s emotional undercurrents without overwhelming them.

Produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, Kuberaa boasts high production values and a distinctive tone.

With just five days to go until its theatrical release on June 20, the trailer sets the tone for a film that promises to provoke, surprise, and resonate deeply.
