David Warner launches for Robinhood

Cricket sensation David Warner has stepped off the pitch and onto the silver screen, arriving in Hyderabad today to kickstart promotions for his Telugu film debut, Robinhood.

The Australian batting legend, known for his deep admiration of Indian culture, will be seen in a special cameo in the upcoming heist comedy starring Nithiin and Sreeleela.

Warner’s packed promotional schedule includes multiple media interactions throughout the day, culminating in a grand pre-release.

Directed by Venky Kudumula and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, “Robinhood” is set for a worldwide theatrical release on March 28, 2025.

A self-proclaimed Tollywood fan, Warner shared his excitement about being part of the project, further cementing his connection with Indian audiences. With his star power adding to the film’s appeal, “Robinhood” is all set to steal the limelight at the box office.

Cricketers in films

One of the most notable names to make the transition is former Indian captain MS Dhoni, who has appeared in commercials. Another cricketer-turned-actor is Harbhajan Singh, who made his Tamil film debut with Friendship (2021). Irfan Pathan made his acting debut in the Tamil action thriller Cobra (2022). Cricketers like Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh have also made cameo appearances in various films, with Kapil recently seen in 83 (2021).
