Bhagyashri Borse gears up for second Telugu release with ‘Kingdom’

Bhagyashri Borse, the young actress who made a striking Tollywood debut with Mr. Bachchan in 2024, is poised for her second major Telugu release, Kingdom, opposite Vijay Deverakonda, set to hit theaters on July 31, 2025.

Despite her debut film’s lackluster box office performance, Bhagyashri’s glamorous screen presence, infectious energy, and strategic project choices have propelled her into the spotlight, marking her as one of Tollywood’s most promising new talents. With a packed lineup of high-profile films, 2025 is shaping up to be a breakout year for the 26-year-old actress.

Bhagyashri Borse’s second release

Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame, is an action-packed gangster drama featuring Vijay Deverakonda as an undercover spy navigating a conflict between familial loyalty and national duty. Bhagyashri plays the female lead, with Satyadev in a pivotal supporting role. The film, produced by Srikara Studios, Sithara Entertainments, and Fortune Four Cinemas, has generated significant buzz with its intense teaser and trailer, raising expectations for a gripping cinematic experience.

The music, composed by Anirudh Ravichander in his first collaboration with Deverakonda, adds to the film’s appeal. At the grand pre-release event in Hyderabad’s Yusufguda Police Grounds on July 28, 2025, Bhagyashri won over audiences by delivering a speech in Telugu, showcasing her effort to connect with the local fanbase.

“It’s incredibly tough for newcomers like me to get even one opportunity. Thanks to your love, I’m getting so many chances to prove myself,” she said, earning applause for her humility and dedication.

Producer Naga Vamsi revealed that he cast Bhagyashri without consulting the director or hero, stating, “I chose her because I really liked her.”

From Bollywood beginnings to Tollywood stardom

Born on May 6, 1999, in Aurangabad and raised in Pune, Maharashtra, Bhagyashri Borse first gained attention through a Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk commercial, which opened doors to her acting career. She made her film debut in 2023 with a minor role as Raajlaxmi Cariappa in the Bollywood romantic comedy Yaariyan 2, directed by Divya Khosla Kumar.

Her performance caught the eye of Tollywood director Harish Shankar, who cast her as Jikki, the romantic lead opposite Ravi Teja, in Mr. Bachchan (2024), a remake of Ajay Devgn’s Raid (2018).

Her vibrant participation in Mr. Bachchan’s promotions, coupled with her striking looks, made her a fan favorite.

Flowerpot queen

Her ability to bag roles opposite top stars like Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Pothineni, Dulquer Salmaan, and potentially Prabhas has led to her being dubbed Tollywood’s “new flowerpot queen”.
