Ahead of the release, Ananthika spoke to the media and described the project as “a pure love story that will resonate with audiences of all age groups.” On choosing 8 Vasantalu after MAD “I waited for the right story,” Ananthika said. “I wanted something that blended action with a beautiful love story — and this script had everything I was looking for. The character offers great scope for performance. When I read it, I connected deeply and even cried. It’s an emotional journey, and I play a pure-hearted character. The male lead is a writer with a martial arts background, and that dynamic really drew me in.” On her role “This is a very realistic love story. To prepare for the role, Ananthika underwent rigorous physical training. “I learned Kalaripayattu for this film, and also trained in Wing Chun, a Chinese martial art.
