Aamir Khan at 60: A new partner and a new phase of life

Many milestones

Over the years, he has delivered milestone films: Lagaan (2001), an Oscar-nominated masterpiece; Ghajini (2008), the first Indian film to cross Rs 100 crore at the box office; and Dangal (2016), which remains the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, outpacing even Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2. His film 3 Idiots was so influential that it inspired remakes in multiple languages.

Forever young at 60

Despite turning 60, Aamir Khan insists he does not feel like a senior citizen. “I may have reached 60, but in my mind, I still feel like a teenager or a 20-year-old,” he shared, adding with a smile that he believes he’s aging in reverse.

Love and companionship

In an unexpected revelation, Aamir Khan introduced his girlfriend, Gauri, at an informal birthday gathering, surprising fans and media alike. He opened up about their deep-rooted bond and commitment to each other.

“We have known each other for 25 years but were always occupied with our own lives. Now, we are together,” Aamir disclosed. When asked about wedding plans, he responded with a warm smile, saying, “Right now, we are life partners, but yes, we will see.” His words hinted at the possibility of marriage in the future but also conveyed contentment in their current relationship.

Aamir has been married twice before—first to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children, and later to Kiran Rao, with whom he has a son.

The dream project: Mahabharat

Following the underwhelming performance of Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan has been selective about his projects. He is set to return with a sequel to Taare Zameen Par and is also actively working on his long-cherished dream project—an ambitious adaptation of The Mahabharat.

“My team is already deep into pre-production and research. Once everything is in place, we will move forward. It has always been my dream to bring Mahabharat to the silver screen using the latest technology and making it accessible to a global audience,” he revealed.

Aamir Khan also is doing a cameo appearance in Superstar Rajinikanth’s “Coolie”, being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He will play an important role and share screen space with Rajinikanth for the second time in his career.
