She opens up about her debut production, the challenges behind the scenes, and her hopes for the film. “Subham” is releasing on May 9. She co-produced it and also made a cameo appearance in it. On becoming a producer Samantha, who is stepping into production with Subham under her banner Tralala Moving Pictures, shared her thoughts in a recent media interaction. “As an actor, I never truly understood the producer’s hardships. If even a single scene doesn’t go as planned, the losses can be huge—both financially and in terms of time. I now realize how valuable every minute is on set.” She continued, “I wasn’t supposed to play the cameo in Subham, but I didn’t want to ask anyone for a favor for my first production. When people watch it, they’ll see that nothing was overspent or underspent. Every story has its own budget, and we respected that.” Despite acknowledging her lack of experience in film business, she was clear about her motivation: “I’ve always followed my heart. I may not be a smart businesswoman, but I made this movie because I believed in it. I can confidently say Subham will live up to expectations.” On the film and its message Talking about the story and themes of Subham, she said: “The story is written by Vasanth. I hope it leaves a strong impact on the audience. Most women today are hooked on TV serials, and while Subham includes horror and comedy elements, at its core, it’s a social satire. Whether it delivers a message or not—that’s for the audience to decide.” She also revealed her hands-on involvement in post-production: “I’m my own toughest critic. I know exactly where I’ve gone wrong in a film. For Subham, I worked hard in the editing room to make sure there are no dull moments.
