YSRCP will return to power, says Jagan

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed confidence that his party will reclaim power in Andhra Pradesh within three years. Marking the party’s 15th anniversary, he criticized the ruling NDA alliance for failing to fulfill its electoral promises and vowed to continue holding the government accountable.

Speaking at the YSRCP headquarters in Tadepalli, Jagan reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the people. “YSRCP has always been the voice of the voiceless, and we will ensure this government does not get away with neglecting its promises,” he declared. He praised party workers for their dedication, stating that the people have acknowledged their efforts.

Criticism of the TDP-led government

Jagan took aim at the current government, led by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which has been in office for ten months. He accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of failing to implement the ‘Super Six’ schemes that were promised before the 2024 elections.

The ‘Super Six’ guarantees include:

– ₹1,500 monthly aid for women aged 19-59

Jagan alleged that the government had failed to deliver on these schemes, leading to distress across sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Allegations of neglect in the education sector

The former Chief Minister specifically highlighted the impact on students. He pointed out that the state’s fee reimbursement program requires ₹2,800 crore annually, yet the government has only allocated ₹700 crore. “Instead of fulfilling its commitments, the government is merely clearing last year’s dues while pushing this year’s burden onto the next,” he remarked.

Jagan questioned the ruling party’s intent, asking when they would genuinely address the needs of students and the underprivileged.

Future roadmap

In a post on X, Jagan reiterated that YSRCP was founded to uphold the welfare vision of his late father, former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy. “Our journey has seen many ups and downs, but we have always moved forward with the people’s support,” he stated, thanking party cadres for their dedication over the past 15 years.

Reflecting on his tenure, Jagan highlighted YSRCP’s achievements in welfare and development. “We shaped a governance model like no other state, improving living standards and ensuring sustainable economic growth,” he said.
