Congress rakes up phone tapping drama gain, KTR sends legal notice

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has issued a legal notice to PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, expressing strong objection to what he called baseless and defamatory allegations regarding the phone tapping controversy.

KTR stated that the Congress government, having failed to deliver on its promises since taking office, is now using the phone tapping issue as a distraction to cover up its administrative failures.

He condemned the statements made by Mahesh Kumar Goud, calling them derogatory and completely unsupported by evidence. KTR demanded an immediate and unconditional public apology from the PCC chief.

“As a law-abiding citizen, I have fully cooperated with the investigation in a case that was filed illegally. But dragging my name and the names of BRS leaders into this without any proof is unacceptable,” KTR said.

Failure of six guarantees

He further warned that continued defamatory statements and attempts to malign opposition leaders would not be tolerated.

“If the Congress government continues to mislead the public with these diversion tactics instead of fulfilling its ‘six guarantees’ or, as the people now call them, ‘420 guarantees,’ we will respond strongly. The BRS cadre will not remain silent,” he asserted.

KTR also accused the Congress party of using the phone tapping case as a political weapon ahead of local body elections. He alleged that the issue is being deliberately resurrected to mislead voters and shift focus away from real governance issues.

Calling the ongoing narrative a “bribery drama,” KTR criticized both the Chief Minister and PCC Chief, accusing them of spreading lies due to their inability to effectively run the state. He cautioned that leaders like Mahesh Kumar Goud would face legal consequences for making slanderous remarks for political gain.

Concluding his statement, KTR urged the Congress leadership to stop targeting the opposition and instead focus on delivering good governance that benefits the people of Telangana.
