Pawan Kalyan dismisses retirement rumors, commits to acting

Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan has made it clear that his political responsibilities as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will not signal the end of his acting career. Amid speculation that he might retire from films, the star has reaffirmed his commitment to the industry.

Acting for financial stability

In a recent interview with Thanthi TV, Pawan Kalyan addressed the rumors directly, stating, “As long as I need money, I will continue acting in films without compromising my administrative and political duties.” He elaborated on his philosophy, drawing inspiration from thinkers like Henry David Thoreau and spiritual figures such as yogis and siddhars, emphasizing a selfless approach to public service.

Kalyan further clarified that he has never prioritized wealth accumulation or ventured into business, including film production. “My only source of income is cinema. Since I have made commitments to projects, I must fulfill them,” he stated.

Balancing politics and cinema

When questioned about managing both careers without being perceived as a part-time actor or politician, Kalyan cited examples of leaders who have successfully handled business along with governance. He explained that his administrative acumen was not an afterthought, but rather a subject of interest since the mid-90s. “Even while acting, I was studying administration and public policy,” he noted.
