Chaos in Telangana assembly's budget session

The Telangana Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes as opposition leaders pressed the government for clarifications on key issues. However, instead of addressing their concerns, Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka used most of his speech to attack the previous BRS regime, blaming it for the state’s financial troubles. His remarks sparked outrage among BRS leaders, who accused the Congress of evading crucial questions.

Harish Rao slams congress

Speaking to the media, senior BRS MLA and former Minister T Harish Rao strongly criticized the Congress government for refusing to answer opposition queries. He accused the ruling party of fleeing from debate and sidestepping pressing issues like job creation, loan waivers, and financial mismanagement.

Harish Rao alleged that contractors were protesting outside Bhatti Vikramarka’s chamber, accusing the government of demanding a 20% commission for clearing pending bill payments. He ridiculed the Congress’ claim of providing interest-free loans worth ₹1 lakh crore, questioning its feasibility.

Disputed job creation claims

The BRS leader dismissed the Congress’ assertion of creating 57,000 jobs, stating that only 7,094 job notifications had been issued since the party took office. He reminded the public of the Congress’ election promise to create two lakh jobs, implying that the government had failed to deliver on its commitments.

Harish Rao also refuted the Congress’ claims regarding Telangana’s debt, clarifying that the state’s debt under the previous BRS government stood at ₹4.2 lakh crore, not the ₹7 lakh crore figure cited by the Congress. He accused the ruling party of spreading misinformation to justify its financial policies.

He also accused the government of neglecting state employees’ demands, retirement benefits, and pending police bills, further deepening dissatisfaction among various sections of society. With mounting opposition pressure and increasing allegations of misgovernance, the Congress government faces a tough road ahead. The heated debates in the Assembly indicate growing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition, setting the stage for an intense political battle in Telangana.
