Nani vs. Chinni: Brothers fight in Vizag land scam

A bitter family feud has erupted into a major political controversy in Andhra Pradesh, with former Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas, popularly known as Kesineni Nani, accusing his younger brother, current Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), of masterminding a massive land scam in Visakhapatnam. The allegations, centered around the allotment of 60 acres of prime land to Ursa Clusters Private Ltd., have reignited tensions between the siblings, spilling onto social media and drawing public attention.

Kesineni Nani called for the immediate cancellation of the land allotment to Ursa Clusters, labeling it a “benami and fraudulent scheme” orchestrated by his brother for personal profiteering.

Nani claimed that suspicious circumstances led to the land’s grant to Ursa Clusters, a newly incorporated company with no credible background or experience. He pointed out that one of the company’s directors, Abburi Satish, is a longtime associate and former business partner of Kesineni Chinni, raising questions about the legitimacy of the deal.

Nani further accused his brother of leveraging his position as an MP and president of the Andhra Cricket Association to push the deal through, claiming Chinni misused political influence, including the name of IT Minister Nara Lokesh, to justify his actions. He also linked Chinni to other alleged illegal activities, including connections with sand, fly ash, gravel mining, and real estate mafias.

In response, Chinni dismissed the accusations as “delusional and toxic rants,” branding Nani a “psycho” and denying any involvement in the land deal.

Ursa Clusters’ purported land allotment for a Rs 5,728 crore data center project has sparked controversy because the company lacks credentials and was incorporated just weeks before the allotment.

Political analysts suggest the allegations could prompt a probe, especially given the growing media scrutiny and public interest in the case.

As the dispute intensifies, everyone’s focus is on Naidu’s reaction to Nani’s appeal and the potential government probe into the accusations related to the Ursa Clusters land deal. The sibling rivalry, now intertwined with serious charges of corruption, threatens to cast a shadow over Andhra Pradesh’s investment-driven development narrative.
