Pawan Kalyan shares hopeful update on son Mark Shankar

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan provided a reassuring update on his son Mark Shankar’s health today after visiting him at a hospital in Singapore.

Mark Shankar, the eight-year-old son of Pawan Kalyan and his wife Anna Lezhneva, was injured in a fire accident at a school summer camp in Singapore on April 8, 2025. The incidentleft several children injured and resulted in one fatality.

Pawan Kalyan arrived at the hospital early Wednesday morning.

Gradually recovering: Pawan

Speaking to the media after spending time with his son, Pawan Kalyan shared, “Mark Shankar is gradually recovering. He has been shifted from the emergency ward to a private room, and the doctors are closely monitoring his condition. He underwent a bronchoscopy procedure under general anesthesia due to smoke inhalation, but he’s responding well to treatment.”

The fire, which broke out during a summer camp at the school, caused burns to Mark Shankar’s hands and legs and led to respiratory complications from smoke inhalation.

According to hospital sources, the young boy is now stable, though he will remain under medical supervision for at least the next three days as further tests are conducted to ensure his full recovery.

“The medical team here is doing an excellent job, and we’re hopeful he’ll be back to his cheerful self soon,” Pawan Kalyan added, visibly relieved yet emotional.

Pawan expresses gratitude to all leaders

The Deputy CM also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans, well-wishers, and political leaders. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally called Pawan Kalyan to offer his prayers. “The love and blessings from everyone are giving us strength during this difficult time,” Pawan Kalyan said, acknowledging the prayers and poojas conducted on Mark’s behalf back home.

With three marriages and four children, Kalyan’s journey through love, family, and relationships has often been a topic of intrigue and discussion among fans and media alike.

Kalyan’s first marriage took place in May 1997, when he tied the knot with Nandini. Soon they divorced, and later Kalyan married actress Renu Desai after being in a relationship with her for many years. They met during the filming of “Badri.” In 2009, Kalyan formalized his relationship with Renu Desai. Together, they welcomed two children: a son, Akira Nandan, born in 2004, and a daughter, AadhyaKonidela, born in 2010. Despite their seemingly strong bond, the marriage hit rough waters, and they divorced in 2012.

Kalyan’s third and current marriage is with Anna Lezhneva, a Russian model and actress he met on the sets of his 2011 film Teen Maar.

Pawan Kalyan has four children from three marriages —Akira Nandan, AadhyaKonidela, Polena Anjana Pawanova, and Mark Shankar Pawanovich.

Akira and Aadhya were born to him and his second wife, Renu. Polena and Mark are the children of Pawan Kalyan and Anna.
