Operation Sindoor: India strikes 4 terror bases in Pak

In the early hours of Wednesday, India launched a major military offensive targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Codenamed “Operation Sindoor,” the operation marked a coordinated effort by the Army, Navy, and Air Force—making it the most extensive cross-border precision strike since the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.

The mission was carried out in retaliation for the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including a serving Indian Navy officer and a Nepali national. The attack was attributed to the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which is believed to receive logistical and financial support from elements within the Pakistani government.

Official statement

The official statement follows:

“Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory. No Pakistani military facilities were targeted. India has exercised significant restraint in both the selection of targets and the method of execution. This is in line with our commitment that those responsible for the Pahalgam attack will be held accountable.”

According to sources, the strikes represent the first phase of a broader response.
