The city of Hyderabad is brimming with anticipation as it prepares to host the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, taking place from May 10 to May 31, 2025.
With contestants from over 120 countries set to participate, the global event will spotlight Telangana’s cultural richness, modern infrastructure, and renowned hospitality. The grand finale will be held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, where Miss World 2024, Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, will crown her successor.
Preparations are in full swing under the leadership of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, with the state government ensuring seamless execution.
Delegates are already arriving at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, greeted with traditional ceremonies as colorful national flags and the welcoming slogan “Telangana Welcomes Miss World 2025” adorn the premises.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for May 10 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, will feature a vibrant parade-style showcase of Telangana’s folk and tribal dance traditions, setting the stage for a month-long cultural celebration.
Designed to promote Telangana as a global tourism and investment destination, the event itinerary includes visits to iconic heritage and cultural sites such as the UNESCO-listed Ramappa Temple, the Buddhavanam Buddhist theme park, Chowmahalla Palace, and Pochampally for a traditional handloom experience.
Highlights also include a medical tourism showcase at leading hospitals, a Telangana cuisine festival at Experium Eco Tourism Park, and an arts and crafts workshop at Shilparamam.
Adding a contemporary touch, a group of contestants will attend an IPL 2025 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Key events include the Miss World Sports Finale on May 17 at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, the Talent Finale on May 22 at Shilpakala Vedika, and the Top Model & Fashion Finale on May 24 at HITEX.
The finale will be an invite-only event, with a curated audience comprising students, achievers, and industry leaders, reflecting the Miss World Organization’s theme, “Beauty with a Purpose.” Following the crowning moment on May 31, the newly crowned Miss World will meet with the Governor and Chief Minister of Telangana on June 2, coinciding with the celebration of Telangana State Formation Day.
