Veteran Telugu actor Sumanth found himself at the center of an unexpected swirl of gossip. Rumors began circulating online that the actor was preparing for a second marriage—with none other than actress Mrunal Thakur. Now, Sumanth has broken his silence, firmly denying the speculation.
During the promotional rounds for his upcoming film Anaganaga, which will stream on ETV Win, Sumanth addressed the rumors directly. Known for keeping a low profile and rarely engaging with social media chatter, the actor said he was unaware of the gossip until recently.
“I only came to know about this rumor a few days ago,” Sumanth said, clarifying that he has no romantic connection with Mrunal Thakur.
He explained that the speculation likely stemmed from their appearances together during the promotions of Sita Ramam, where he played a pivotal supporting role and Mrunal starred as the female lead.
“That’s the extent of our association,” he emphasized, calling the rumors not only false but “embarrassing.” He also made it clear that he has no plans to remarry.
Sumanth was previously married to actress Keerthy Reddy, a marriage that ended in divorce many years ago. Since then, he has chosen to remain single and has stayed largely out of the public eye, focusing on his acting career.
Mrunal Thakur, for her part, has not responded to the rumors. The actress, who successfully transitioned from Hindi television to mainstream cinema, continues to be in high demand.
After earning critical acclaim for her role in Sita Ramam, she has taken on several high-profile projects, including her current film Dacoit opposite Adivi Sesh. Her silence on the matter reflects her apparent focus on work rather than speculation.
