Shruti Haasan has once again made headlines with her unapologetic stance on cosmetic procedures, discussing her nose surgery, use of fillers, and openness to a potential facelift in a recent interview.

Known for her transparency about personal choices, the actress spoke candidly during a conversation with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, emphasizing her belief in bodily autonomy and challenging societal judgments about aesthetic enhancements.

In the interview, Shruti revisited her decision to undergo rhinoplasty after her debut film Luck (2009), addressing rumors and criticism head-on.

Nose fixed

“I did get my nose fixed, and it was very obvious,” she said. “My nose was broken from two injuries, and it didn’t just hurt—it didn’t look the way I wanted. I did my first film with my old nose, and people said I was using a deviated septum as an excuse. No, it was real, but if I could make it prettier, it’s my face, why wouldn’t I?” Her forthrightness about the procedure, which corrected both medical and aesthetic concerns, has been lauded by fans for normalizing honest discussions about cosmetic surgery.

Lip enhancement

Shruti also confirmed her use of fillers, particularly lip and cheek enhancements, to address comments about her appearance not fitting traditional “heroine” standards. “They said my face was too Western, too sharp, not Indian enough. I got fillers, yeah, I did,” she admitted. “I don’t feel the need to justify why I want to look a certain way for myself.”

She further addressed speculation about future procedures, stating, “And tomorrow, would I get a facelift? Maybe, maybe not. Who knows? It’s my body.” Her openness about possibly considering a facelift in the future underscores her pragmatic approach to personal choices.

“I don’t want people saying Shruti is telling everyone to get fillers. If you want to do it, do it. If not, don’t. Just let me do what I’m doing,” she asserted. Shruti also called out industry peers who deny undergoing similar procedures, noting, “If any actresses say they haven’t done it, they’re lying—faces don’t change that much.”

Shruti’s journey with cosmetic enhancements, including her rhinoplasty in Dubai—a hub for high-end cosmetic procedures—has been framed as an empowering narrative of self-love and choice.

As Shruti continues to shine in films like Coolie with Rajinikanth  her bold stance on cosmetic surgery continues to challenge taboos, encouraging a broader conversation about personal agency and beauty standards in the film industry.
