National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh is set to make her mark once again in Bollywood, signing on for a significant new project opposite acclaimed actor Rajkummar Rao. The upcoming satirical drama, produced by Rao and his wife Patralekhaa under their banner Kampa Films, explores the commercialization of India’s education system. This marks Keerthy’s second Hindi film after her debut in Baby John (2024).
Directed by Aditya Nimbalkar (Sector 36), the untitled film is a sharp, humorous take on the growing commodification of education in India. Keerthy and Rajkummar will portray idealistic educators who take on a corrupt system, exposing the deep-rooted fraud and profit-driven motives plaguing modern academia.
“The story uses satire to show how the education sector has shifted from a noble pursuit of knowledge to a business of profits, losing sight of its core purpose—nation building,” a source close to the production revealed.
Known for her critically acclaimed performance in Mahanati (2018), which earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress, Keerthy Suresh has been steadily expanding her pan-Indian presence. While her Hindi debut Baby John—a remake of the Tamil hit Theri—received a lukewarm response at the box office, it highlighted her versatility and willingness to take creative risks.
This new project positions her in a socially relevant narrative, aligning her with the kind of cinema that has defined Rajkummar Rao’s career, with hits like Newton and Stree known for their unique blend of realism and mass appeal.
This is Keerthy’s first film signed after her marriage to longtime partner Antony in December 2024. With this announcement, the actress has sent a clear message: marriage will not slow down her career. Industry sources confirm she is actively reviewing scripts and open to signing more films.
The 2025 satirical drama is expected to be the first of several major announcements from the actress, who is also in talks to join Suriya’s upcoming Telugu-Tamil bilingual film, to be directed by Venky Atluri.
Keerthy Suresh continues to prove that she is not only a versatile performer but also a determined professional committed to impactful storytelling, both in the South and now increasingly in Bollywood.
