The highly anticipated action-thriller “War 2,” part of Yash Raj Films’ expanding Spy Universe, is entering its final phase of production with a major highlight: an epic dance face-off between Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Telugu cinema superstar NTR.

The high-energy sequence, choreographed by Bosco Martis and set to a pulsating track by Pritam, is scheduled to be filmed in June 2025 at Yash Raj Studios in Andheri, Mumbai.

Show-stopping moment

Conceived as a show-stopping moment in the film’s climax, the dance sequence will feature over 500 background dancers and an elaborate set designed by production designer Amrita Mahal Nakai.

Originally slated for March, the shoot was postponed due to a leg injury Hrithik sustained during rehearsals. Now fully recovered, Roshan is set to join Jr NTR on set, marking one of the most anticipated moments in the film.

“This is more than just a dance – it’s a stylized face-off that reflects the tension and rivalry between the two characters,” said a source close to the production. The sequence will segue directly into a climactic action scene, intensifying the film’s final moments.

Rhythm meets rivalry

“War 2,” directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe and marks Jr NTR’s much-anticipated Bollywood debut. The film also stars Kiara Advani and continues the storyline from previous hits like War (2019) and Pathaan (2023).

Producer Aditya Chopra is credited with envisioning the dance face-off as a creative centerpiece of the film, bringing together two of India’s most dynamic performers.

Both Hrithik and Jr NTR have undergone intense rehearsals for the sequence, aiming for authenticity and synchronized brilliance. With security on set heightened to prevent leaks, the shoot is expected to span six to seven days and will signal the end of the film’s principal photography.

Naatu Naatu and class beat

Hrithik Roshan, reprising his role as R&AW agent Kabir Dhaliwal, recently praised Jr NTR at a press event, calling him “a phenomenal actor with incredible energy.” He added, “Working with NTR has been a rewarding experience. His commitment and passion have pushed me to give my best.” Jr NTR, coming off his global success with RRR and the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu,” is expected to bring unmatched intensity to the dance battle.
