Anurag Kashyap’s first Telugu film: Dacoit

The highly anticipated pan-India action drama “Dacoit,” with Adivi Sesh, is in progress, with filming underway in Hyderabad. The makers recently announced that Mrunal Thakur joined the sets as the main actress.

The producers have now disclosed another significant addition to the ensemble cast. Renowned filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap has joined the project in a key role.

Anurag plays a Lord Ayyappa devotee, exhibiting zero tolerance for corruption. Intelligent, humorous, and sardonic, his persona enhances a compelling narrative replete with action, emotion, and drama.

Anurag Kashyap conveyed his enthusiasm for joining the film, stating, “Portraying a police officer who is a devotee of Ayyappa is both enjoyable and demanding. The dilemmas of duty against dharma, along with the execution of his responsibilities infused with a caustic wit, are remarkable. I eagerly anticipate portraying this character in both Hindi and Telugu. Achieving equivalent effect in both languages is the tough aspect, which I find tremendously enjoyable.”
