Chandrababu Naidu to disburse money under Talliki Vandanam Scheme

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has greenlit the disbursement of ₹8,745 crore under the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme, a key component of the TDP-led NDA government’s ‘Super Six’ election promises, marking the coalition’s one-year anniversary in office.

The scheme, which translates to “Salutations to the Mother,” will provide Rs 15,000 annually to the mothers of 67,27,164 school-going children from Class 1 to Intermediate, aimed at easing education costs and boosting school attendance.

The funds will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts starting today, June 12, 2025, following the issuance of a Government Order outlining operational guidelines.

The scheme will also cover students newly admitted to Class 1 and Intermediate First Year once admissions are finalized, though it remains unclear whether the transfers apply to the 2024-25 or 2025-26 academic year.

Naidu described the rollout as a “special gift for mothers,” emphasizing its role in empowering families and promoting education.

Annadata Sukhibhava included with central scheme

In addition to launching ‘Talliki Vandanam,’ Naidu reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling another ‘Super Six’ promise: providing Rs 20,000 annually to farmers under the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme. The program, set to begin within two months, will disburse funds in three installments, with the state contributing Rs 14,000 and the Central government providing Rs 6,000 via the PM-KISAN scheme. This initiative aims to support agricultural families and enhance farm productivity.

The ‘Talliki Vandanam’ launch follows the successful implementation of other ‘Super Six’ promises, including enhanced pensions under NTR Bharosa, the reopening of Anna Canteens, the Mega DSC recruitment drive, and the Deepam-2 scheme offering three free LPG cylinders annually.

Naidu’s government has faced financial constraints, with critics like YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy alleging delays in fulfilling promises. However, Naidu emphasized his administration’s resolve to deliver despite “empty coffers,” citing responsible borrowing and Central government support.
