Araku Coffee to brew in Parliament premises Vaitla K, March 24, 2025March 24, 2025 “Araku Coffee”, which hails from Andhra Pradesh, is set to make its presence felt in Parliament as two stalls will be opened on Monday, filling the premises with its signature aroma. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has approved the setup, following which Kulmohan Singh Arora, Director of Lok Sabha Bhavan, issued orders allowing the Andhra Pradesh Girijan Cooperative Corporation Ltd (GCC) to establish the outlets. As part of efforts to promote this premium tribal-grown coffee, GCC has curated special Araku Coffee gift packs for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and other dignitaries. Assembly Speaker C. Ayyanna Patrudu launched one stall on the Assembly premises, while Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshen Raju inaugurated another at the Council. Global brand Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu envisions Araku Coffee achieving global recognition, aspiring for it to become as renowned as Starbucks. Speaking at an International Women’s Day event, he highlighted how this coffee, cultivated by tribal farmers, has already gained international acclaim. In June last year, CM Naidu expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for endorsing Araku Coffee during Mann Ki Baat, where the PM praised its rich aroma and large-scale cultivation in Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitarama Raju district. With around 1.5 lakh tribal families engaged in Araku Coffee farming, its global presence is steadily growing. In July, CM Naidu welcomed Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra’s announcement of a second Araku Coffee café opening in Paris.
